I know waterfowl dog trainers do not like this command for a variety of reasons (dog may crack their tooth on the plastic decoy if really cold or dog may fetch a decoy rather than the duck when hunting), but never had a problem, my dog has a soft mouth, not that cold in Texas, and she sure knows the difference between a duck and a decoy, she has picked up decoys 2 seasons now. It really comes in handy when I throw the decoys in places too deep for me to retrieve them myself.

In this video we go out to train Zeke, BownHunter’s German shorthaired pointer, to point and retrieve quail in Western Pennsylvania. We released the birds about 50 yards away from the dog and would walk up with Zeke to allow him to find the birds for us. This was one of his first times out pointing WITH shooting, so we wanted his attention to be on the point, not on the gun shot, which he did extremely well with. Although they are smaller and not fully matured it was still good practice for us for shooting after flushing the birds out. There is a strict season for other game birds and hunting quail like we did allo

This is an explosive called Tannerite that you mix up and set out about 100 yards and shoot with a high powered rifle. Doesn’t look as cool on the video but it’s awesome as heck.

Prairie dog hunting in Wyoming with my Marlin 60 .22 long rifle using open sights and Remington 36 grain hollow points. Watch close and you can see the bullets hitting the dogs. I filmed this with a Sony PJ10 HD camcorder and on the far shots I was testing the 350x digital zoom, which is why the quality looks a bit low.

Here’s the safest, most effective way ever to get your “Huntin’ Dog” in and out of the boat when retrieving. The Load-A-Pup HD attaches to the transom or side of any hunting boat and adjusts to the perfect level to allow your dog to exit and enter with ease. The Load-A-Pup’s platform can be positioned at water level to eliminate the “boat-rocking” problems common to other systems. The Load-A-Pup is constructed of aircraft aluminum and weighs only 7 lbs. With use of super-strong aircraft suspension cables, it will handle any size dog. It folds completely flat and compact for easy storage when not in use. The 14″ X 20″ platform is the perfect size for the job and is designed with gripping ridges to provide sure-footing and protection from injury to the dog’s feet. The Load-A-Pup comes with a
